According to Football 365, Jurgen Klopp has urged the club administration to make a bid for the former Chelsea player since he has a great deal of admiration for the Dane.

While Klopp apparently wants to strengthen his defensive options as well, the Reds are reportedly interested on bringing in Romeo Lavia from Southampton as their third acquisition of the summer.
The right-back and center-back positions are reportedly on the manager’s list of summer targets for the German. And it’s said that the Reds manager’s main objective is Andreas Christensen, who plays at the centre of the defence.
According to the report, Liverpool’s initial offer of €30 million to Barcelona was previously turned down. They reportedly have a better offer of €50 million ready to test Barça’s commitment once more.
After his Chelsea contract expired in the summer of 2016, Christensen transferred to Barcelona for free. The international player from Denmark had an outstanding first season with the Catalan powerhouses and contributed to their La Liga championship win.
The Dane played 32 times for Barcelona in various competitions and established a reliable relationship with Ronald Araujo. The Dane was an important player for Chelsea before joining Barca, appearing in 161 times.
According to Football 365, Liverpool is also exploring Perr Schuurs of Torino as a replacement for Christensen.
Barcelona Manager Contemplates Andreas Christensen’s New Role Amid Liverpool Interest
Despite Liverpool’s interest, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez is allegedly considering giving Andreas Christensen a new role this year. Sergio Busquets left a significant vacuum for the Blaugrana this summer, and it will be difficult to fill it.
According to Barca Blaugranes, the Barca manager may conduct additional tests this year after putting Eric Garcia in the number six position last year. Christensen is not only an excellent defender, but he also contributes significantly to his team with his natural ball-handling skills.
Ilkay Gundogan and Oriol Romeu have been added to the Blaugrana’s midfield this summer. Romeu is a natural at the number six position, whilst Gundogan is more of a number eight.
