On Saturday, David de Gea posted an emotional message for the supporters as a way of announcing his departure from Manchester United.

On Saturday, David de Gea, the club’s standout custodian, officially announced his departure. To make his announcement about leaving United, the Spaniard used his official Twitter account.

De Gea began by saying, “I just wanted to say goodbye to all Manchester United fans.”

“I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. I took incredible pride everytime I pulled on this shirt, to lead the team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world was an honour only bestows upon a few lucky footballers.”

According to De Gea, now is the right time to undertake a new challenge and to push himself again in new surroundings. He continues, “Manchester will always be in my heart, Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me. We’ve seen it all.”

Erik Ten Hag, the manager of Manchester, praised David De Gea for his exceptional career there, which included victories in the Europa League and the Premier League. To be good enough to play even one game for Manchester United requires a lot of quality and character. To accomplish so 545 times in 12 years is remarkable, especially for a custodian whose every match puts them in the spotlight, according to Ten Hag, who was quoted in a statement issued by United.

The level of his performance is demonstrated by the fact that he received four Player of the Year accolades from both the fans and his teammates. He will always be recognised as one of the best goalkeepers in the club’s history.

He helped the team keep 25 clean sheets last season, and I appreciate everything he did on the pitch in my first season with the team. He has the best wishes of the entire team, including the players, for the next part of his amazing career.
