After IPL 2023, Dhoni gave a special class to young players from SRH. Ian Bishop’s reaction to the show is priceless.

There is a reason why every young football player in the world wants to play in the Indian Premier League. As well as providing a stage for youngsters to showcase their talents to the world, the tournament also gives them the opportunity to get to know some of the game’s best players or legends. MS Dhoni held a special session for SRH young players after the IPL 2023 match at Chepauk Stadium on Friday night. Former West Indies bowler Ian Bishop’s reaction to the action was priceless.

With their second victory at home in the current IPL, CSK defeated SRH by seven wickets on Friday, keeping their winning streak alive. After the game, the cameraman captured Dhoni meeting most likely every junior member of the SRH unit. They were paying close attention to what the CSK captain had to say.

With pace phenom Umran Malik in the middle, Dhoni was seen animatedly speaking with the players. Later, Abdul Samad, who has long been regarded as SRH’s finisher but has yet to deliver a memorable performance, was also observed having a prolonged conversation with him.

Look at that, the pundits said as the cameras captured Dhoni conversing with the SRH players. “Look at that. That’s a fantastic picture. The guru has a few words to say and all the youngsters that are there are all ears.”

Later, West Indies legend Bishop shared the video on Twitter with the following comment: “That footage of MSD with the SRH guys at the end of the CSK vs SRH #TATAIPL2023 game was super. Students devouring every word of the teacher.”

Although SRH’s bowlers were quite excellent in holding the hosts in check during the 135-run chase, which Dhoni’s team completed with eight balls remaining, it was an overwhelming victory for CSK.

With a three-wicket haul, Ravindra Jadeja stood out among the bowlers, and Devon Conway led the CSK team in scoring with an unbeaten 77. With eight points in six games, CSK is currently third in the standings, surpassing Lucknow Super Giants in second place and the Rajasthan Royals in first place. The difference between the three teams is determined by net run rate.

Despite being 41 years old and having played in 240 IPL matches, MS Dhoni entered this season after nearly a year had passed since the previous one. He is aware that his career is coming to an end, but he thinks it won’t stop him from enjoying every moment of the event that Chennai Super Kings has won four times.

“[I am] Definitely old, you know, you can’t really shy away from that. Whatever said and done, it’s [the] last phase of my career,” Dhoni made this statement following Super Kings’ victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chepauk.

But he turned the situation around by enlisting the devoted and ardent support of his supporters in Chennai, who flocked there in large numbers and let out a shout that was so loud that Dhoni had to wait before he could speak.

“However long I play, it’s very important to enjoy the IPL. After two years, it has been a case where they [the crowd] can come [and] enjoy the game. It’s a full house, they have the new stand, so it feels good to play here.
