Gerardo Martino, the recently appointed manager of Inter Miami, has talked about the potential signings of Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets. Since Phil Neville was fired, Martino has been in control of the MLS team.

As his PSG contract has already expired, Leo Messi is expected to join the team as a free agent. Busquets, a new club member from Barcelona, is in the same situation. Martino said this regarding the pair’s impending arrival: “That the world’s greatest player decides to play in this league, evidently it will open an even greater scenario of growth. When I spoke with Leo, yesterday I spoke with Sergio. We spoke about coming to make things happen. To compete, to compete well. They’re competitors, world champions, champions of the Spanish league… it’s in their blood.”

During their time together at Barcelona, Lionel Messi previously participated in 46 games under Martino. In that time, the captain of Argentina led his team to 41 goals and 15 assists. For Inter Miami, it will be interesting to see if he can maintain such a strong form.

Tennis Star’s Dream: Lionel Messi as a Neighbour in Inter Miami

The sporting world is in a frenzy as a result of Messi’s transfer to Inter Miami. Juan Martin del Potro, a tennis pro, is not an exception. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner will be next door to the ATP No. 3 player.

Del Potro is an Argentine citizen. He also owns a residence in Miami. Del Potro intends to have Messi as a neighbour as he attempts to fit in at his new club. He recently stated (according to El Grafico): “I’m going to have Lionel Messi as a neighbor. It’s nice that he’s going to play in Miami, but above all what he said: get out of focus a bit and prioritize the family.”

Del Potro also said: “He comes from the World Cup, the Copa América, with many years of too much pressure. A lot of emotional charge. Having won the World Cup already puts him in a position where he can enjoy himself. It’s time for everyone to let him enjoy.”

The enthusiasm in the MLS will increase with Messi’s arrival. The new club of the Argentina captain, though, is now last in the MLS’s Eastern Conference, so he will have some work to do.
