Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star forward Lionel Messi reacts after picking three IFFHS awards. Lionel, a football player from Argentina who is recognised as one of the greatest players in history, has won seven Ballon d’Or honours, the most of any football player, in addition to the 2009 FIFA World Player of the Year award and the 2019 and 2022 FIFA Men’s Player awards.

The number of journalists chosen by the European Sports Media Association, who represent each of UEFA’s member associations, was also doubled to 55.
Jordi Alba Praises Lionel as “Best” and Talks of Lethal Partnership
On the left side of the pitch, Lionel and Jordi Alba were a lethal combination while the Argentinean was a member of Barcelona. The pair worked together with ease and provided fans with many cherishable memories.
Alba discussed his close relationship with Lionel on the pitch in a February interview with Movistar. The Spanish left-back said (via SPORT) of the seven-time Ballon d’Or victor: “We understood each other perfectly. I would just put it at the right time. It was increasingly difficult because all the rivals already knew us, but he came in from the second row and sometimes found other teammates who were more unmarked.”

And he said: “We made a very good duo. With him, everything was easier. Almost all my assists are to him, I remember that the first was at El Sadar. In all aspects of the game, he is the best.”
Lionel’s future at PSG is uncertain as the Argentine’s current contract with the Paris club is about to expire and has yet to be agreed upon. There are many reports that he has returned to Barcelona, where he can see Alba again.
