"Uthappa reveals Dhoni's unique food choices during IPL days"

Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has a particular and rigid eating style, according to Robin Uthappa who also said the former India captain has a special relationship with food. Considered one of the fittest players of his generation, Dhoni will once again captain CSK at IPL 2023 as they bid for their fifth title.

Uthappa and Dhoni have known each other for a long time and shared a dressing room when playing for CSK in IPL as well as in international matches. In the episode of “My Time With Heroes” titled “My Time With Dhoni ft. Uthappa”, which can only be viewed on JioCinema, the former Indian cricketer reminisces about their time together.

Afterwards, Uthappa revealed Dhoni’s  peculiar eating habits. The former cricketer  claimed that apart from him and Dhoni,  their roster includes players like Suresh  Raina, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Piyush Chawla and Munaf Patel.

They used to order a lot of food, but  according to Uthappa, Dhoni was a very  picky eater. According to the former  cricketer, the CSK captain would sometimes eat the sauce instead of the real chicken  when he ate his butter chicken. Uthappa  claims that once Dhoni eats chicken, he  avoids roti.

“We used to always eat together. We had a group: Suresh Raina, Irfan Pathan, RP Singh, Piyush Chawla, Munaf (Patel), MS and me. We would order dal makhni, butter chicken, jeera aloo, gobi and rotis. But MS is a very rigid person when it comes to eating. He would eat butter chicken but without the chicken, only with the gravy! When he ate chicken, he wouldn’t eat the rotis. He is quite weird when it comes to eating,” said Uthappa.

“In the first season, I saw everyone in the squad calling him Mahi bhai. I went up to him and asked if I should call him Mahi bhai too. He dismissed it saying, call me what you want, it makes no difference. Please call me Mahi only.” Uthappa claims that in his first season with CSK, Dhoni was known to everyone as Mahi Bhai. When the ex-player asked him if he should, the CSK captain asked the ex-player to just call him Mahi.
