Real Madrids Vinicius Junior is predicted by Bayern Munich striker Sadio Mane to win the Ballon d’Or soon.

Having a disagreement with Vinicius on Tuesday (June 20) while serving his country, Mane has lavished the player with admiration. In a friendly, Senegal defeated Brazil 4-2. In a statement to TNT Sports (via Madrid Xtra), the Bayern striker praised the 22-year-old player and said: “For me Vinícius Jr is top 3 in the world right now. I think he will keep this level, and, of course, win the Ballon d’Or.”

At the Santiago Bernabeu with Real Madrid, Vinicius just completed an incredible season. Over the course of 55 appearances in various competitions, the Brazilian forward scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists.

After Karim Benzema left, the Madrid winger, who has emerged as the star of the La Liga giants, will be compelled to continue in that role. Throughout the season, his fast feet, agility, and goal-scoring ability have caused havoc for opposing defenders.

From the Brazilian team Flamengo, Vinicius joined Real Madrid in 2018. He’s already won the Champions League, two La Liga championships, and the Copa del Rey. He is anticipated to compete for the Ballon d’Or in October.

The Manchester City combo of Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, though, present the Brazilian with stiff challenge. During the 2022–23 season, the two played a key role in the Cityzens’ continental triple. After winning the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, Argentina’s national hero Lionel Messi is the front-runner for the honour.

Vinicius Junior’s Growing Impact: A Contender for the Ballon d’Or

When Benzema, a teammate from their time at Real Madrid, was predicted to win the award, Vinicius talked about perhaps winning it. Due to his outstanding 2021–22 season, the Frenchman won the prize the previous year.

Insisting that the honour must come naturally and that time is on his side in this regard, the Brazilian said (via Eurosport): “It’s something that has to come naturally. Karim is 35 years old, and now he will win it, Modric won it at 33. I have many years to evolve, a very long road for me, and if God wants me to win it one day, (I will).”

Vinicius is becoming better with each new season and is just going to elevate himself higher in the discussion. He would be the first Brazilian to win the Ballon d’Or since the legendary Kaka of Real Madrid did so in 2007.
