When facing Lionel Messi at the FIFA World Cup, Croatian player Josko Gvardiol said, “One day I’ll tell my kids.”
Argentina defeated the Vatreni 3-0 in the semifinals, with Messi scoring a goal and setting up Julian Alvarez with an outstanding assist. After coming through half-time and spinning inside Gvardiol, the 35-year-old passed the ball past Alvarez to score the Argentine’s third goal as he sprinted towards the touchline.
It was a performance that perfectly characterized Messi’s season, with five goals and three assists in six appearances at his best.

2018 world runners-up Croatia have reached the semi-finals for the second time and will be looking to win three consecutive championships for the first time as an independent country. Morocco and Vatreni will fight for third place on December 17.
Tonight Croatia will repeat their success at the 2022 FIFA World Cup as they battle for the bronze medal.
After defeating Belgium in their last group match, Vaterene beat Brazil and Japan on penalties in the round of 16. Zaltko Dalic’s side lost early in both games but once again showed their dominance by rallying and forcing their opponents to a penalty shootout.
Croatia can be happy with the progress they have made, although Argentina, led by Lionel Messi, are too strong for them this time around. A bronze medal will be an additional achievement. They will be confident in their ability to beat a depleted Moroccan side at Les Bleus 2-0 in the semi-finals.
